"Waffle t shirt" shows up as a breakout search, which means a very sharp rise from a small base. Both give you a little more texture and detail than a basic tee. This guide explains each one.

#What a henley is

A henley is a t-shirt with no collar and a short button strip at the neck. The button strip is called a placket. It usually has two to five buttons.

You can wear the placket open for a relaxed look, or closed for a neater look. Henleys come with short sleeves and with full sleeves.

The name is usually linked to rowers in the town of Henley-on-Thames in England. They wore this style of shirt in the 1800s.

#What a waffle tee is

A waffle tee uses waffle knit. Waffle knit is a fabric with a grid of small raised squares, like the surface of a waffle. You can see and feel the pattern.
